Velvet Underglazes offer two finish possibilities. Unglazed, they have the appearance of velour or velvet. Their color intensifies under a clear glaze. They are food safe when covered with a food safe clear glaze. Apply to either greenware or bisque. Velvets tolerate a wide firing range but may have subtle changes at higher temperatures. Image shown is fired to a low fire cone 05 temperature. Testing is always recommended. Mixing with other colors creates a wider palette. Conforms to ASTM D-4236.
