Ultra low friction spool holder with bearings and a filament guide for the Creality series of printers that eliminates resistance originating from before the extruder. This spool holder makes even a full 1kg or heavier spool roll completely freely with very low constant effort for the extruder and the filament guide prevents tight 90 degree turns in the filament which can also add considerable (intermittent) resistance. The spool holder comes with its own tightening nut and mounts to the stock aluminum post the printer comes with. The filament guide slides onto the 2020 extrusions of the printer at the top. NOTE - IF YOUR FILAMENT SPOOL HAS ONLY LIPS/RIDGES ON THE INSIDE INSTEAD OF A FULL TUBE YOU WILL NEED TO GET "EVERYTHING" VERSION THAT HAS THE SPOOL SLEEVE OR THERE IS NO POINT. Some spools lately I'm noticing don't have a full tube on the inside (see 3rd photo). This is to no doubt save plastic and will probably become the norm for all spools you can buy. These spools can't sit on the holder as there is no area - you need to also use the spool sleeve. YOU MUST GET THE SPOOL SLEEVE IN THAT CASE AS OTHERWISE THERE IS NO POINT. Can help get rid of annoying sporadic extruder clicking noises and subsequent underextrusion assuming you've already ruled out the more major culprits like clogged/worn nozzle, insufficient spring tension on the extruder gear, clogged or weak hotend fan (heat creep), or a gap in the hotend throat assembly. In my case the hint that this was the source of my remaining problems was that the sporadic extruder clicking always seemed worse on a fresh full spool than on a nearly empty one. *Original spool holder design by EmoIan on Thingiverse, print is a minor alteration to improve quality on the bearing mounts and precisely fitting pins for the bearings.
