EMG Precision 50mm M4 Stylus | 2.5mm Tungsten Carbide Stem | 5mm Ruby Ball Needle | Precision Ruby Ball | EWL 37.9 mm. Renishaw Equivalent: A-5003-4800.
A EMG Precision 50mm M4 Stylus | 2.5mm Tungsten Carbide Stem | 5mm Ruby Ball Needle | Precision Ruby Ball | EWL 37.9 mm A stylus for use on coordinate measuring machines (CMM) or systems like machine tool probes. Perfect for use with CNC Touch Probes on machine shop machine centres, lathes and inspection & digitising machines.Straight styli are used to detect easily reachable features on the measured surface. Ruby, as the hardest of all stylus tip materials, is the perfect choice for most applications. Stainless steel is the primary material of choice for high-strength precision styli and extensions if weight can be disregarded. Because of the adhesive material build up, the scanning of aluminium surfaces with ruby tips is not recommended. CMM Touch Probe Stylus 6mm Rubine Ball CNC Tip Ceramic Shaft M4 A

Straight styli are designed to inspect simple features where direct, unobstructed contact with a measured surface is possible. For ball diameters greater than 3 mm, and lengths over 30 mm,ceramic stems offer stiffness comparable to steel but are significantly lighter than tungsten carbide. Ceramic stemmed styli can also offer additional crash protection to your probe as the stem will shatter in a collision.

Ruby provides a long life without wearing of the surface from abrasive materials. Straight styli are designed to inspect simple features where direct, unobstructed contact with a measured surface is possible. A ceramic stem is lightweight yet very stiff and offers built-in crash protection. Ruby is regarded as the industry standard for stylus tips. It is one of the hardest materials available and suitable for most applications. Due to adhesive pickup, ruby tips are not recommended for scanning aluminium parts.
