These are handmade, turned acrylic ballpoint pens. They have black ink, and take a standard Cross ink refill. The hardware is 24k gold plated, which is covered in an epoxy coating for additional durability. For the maroon and gold, blue and orange, and black and gold pen, the acrylic was hand mixed and cast in my pressure chamber. The coloring is completely custom. Pen making has become a passion for my wife and me. Being color blind, I let her do most of the design work. She picks the woods and colors and matches them to the hardware, while I process the items through the crafting phases. Cutting, Drilling, Gluing, Trimming, Turning, Sanding, Finishing, and finally Assembly. Every pen is a little different, and each wood/material has its own experience. Some feel fantastic to turn, others smell fantastic, and still some love to explode on the lathe! Exciting!
