Our Heavy Knitting Silk has a lovely sheen and incredibly soft hand and is a very popular knitting yarn. It's lustrous and easy to handle. Knits at about 3 to 4 stitches per inch. We always recommend you knit a swatch, wet out and block it, then measure and use this as your gauge. Each skein is about 200 yards long and weighs 100 grams (about 3.5 ounces). About 900 yards per pound. 100% natural, soft white - no bleaches or optical whiteners. Spun silk with a long 4 inch staple, combed and very regularly spun. The size is 4/2 Metric Count. Approximately 50% Peace silk from Breeder cocoons. Fibre from China, spun in Europe.
