YAKIMA, Wash. - It's time to dig out your favorite sweaters for the winter season. But when it comes to buckling your child in a car seat during this time of year, Yakima deputies say layering your kid isn't ideal. Twelve-year Child Passenger Safety Expert at the Yakima Police Department Nikki Sandino says it's not against the law to have a child wear a winter coat while strapped in a car seat, but it's been proven to not be the safest way to secure your child.
