Basswood Hardwood S4S is surfaced on all four sides and kiln-dried. This an unfinished clean surfaced board, ready for your woodworking needs.
Basswood Hardwood Lumber Boards - Surfaced S4S (surfaced four sides) and kiln-dried.  This board is more finished than our S2S1E boards and cut from our S2S material. Although surfaced, additional dressing and sanding of the boards may be needed to complete your project.   Basswood grows in Eastern Canada and USA.  This soft creamy white to pale pinkish brown wood is ideal for wood carving, food containers and pattern making.  Basswood has even been used in making bee hives. Our basswood lumber is ideal for building the frames on your custom-made plantation shutters. All stock is pre-planed to the appropriate 1-1/16'' thickness. For stiles, buy the 2-1/4'' wide stock. For rails, the stock width will vary depending on the height of your louvered panel. In many cases, you'll want to buy the 5'' stock for the rails, and rip it to the width you need.
