Price – : $64.99The next item up for review is the 120 set of Ohuhu Art Markers.  These markers have been touted as one of the best inexpensive alcohol marker sets to purchase by many artists.  At its base price, the each marker in this set averages to roughly $0.55 per marker prior to taxes and shipping fees.  This is amazing considering that individual Copic Sketch markers are currently going for $5.85 to $11.27 on .  What’s even better is that Ohuhu occasionally has contests on their website and Instagram account where they’ll hand out promo codes to participants.  I had purchased my set of markers with a twenty percent-off coupon because I participated in their Easter egg decorating contest.Even though these markers are low in cost, are they cheaply made?  Well, perhaps the biggest cost cut of these markers is that each features a chisel tip and a bullet nib, not a brush nib like Copic Sketch and some other alcohol markers.  Even though this may be a deal breaker for some artists, they shouldn’t write off Ohuhu yet: Ohuhu is developing alcohol-based markers with brush nibs and plans to have them released in the summer of 2019.  Two other reasons for their low cost is that they are not refillable, and individual markers are not available to purchase separately from the set.  Both of these issues can be significant reasons as to why someone may not want this set. These markers have white barrels in which the bases are shaped like ovals.  Previous, older sets of Ohuhu markers used to have markers with squarish-shaped barrels instead.  This prevents the markers from rolling off of the drawling surface.  The bullet nib end is delineated by a grey line between the cap and barrel.  The colors are noted by their colored bases and numbers.  Older, smaller sets of Ohuhu markers used to have a color name long with the number.  (The color names will be returning on the brush markers.)  Something annoying is that numbers that can be flipped into other numbers when read upside-down (such as an upside-down six appearing as a nine) are not delineated, leaving you guessing which number is which for some colors; this is extra frustrating if you are someone who likes to refer to swatch charts while working on your art.  There is no indication of colors on the barrels themselves, so it is best not to remove both caps while using multiple markers to prevent mix-ups of marker colors later on.  Also, you are unable to stick open caps on top of the unused marker ends.  Older, previous sets allowed for this, and this feature will be returning to the brush markers.Something that this set includes is a swatch chart.  This can be handy at a cursory glance, but marking your own swatch chart is still advisable.  While the some of the colors on the included swatch chart and caps are accurate, there are other instances in which the colors are a bit off.  For example, I found that 11 was a darker shade of red than 10 despite the caps and pre-printed swatch chart telling me otherwise.  For best results, swatch on marker paper that you will use (which I didn’t do and should have done—yes, I know my swatch sheet is ugly). This set has a good assortment of colors.  There seems to be a nice balance between earth tones and brighter colors.  Also, there are a decent number of flesh tones for artists who like to draw people.  Regardless of this, the system organizing this range of colors isn’t the easiest plan to follow.  While there does appear to be some sort of grouping colors that is happening, the shades aren’t always grouped in a nice, gradual gradation.  There certainly isn’t a numbering system similar to Copic’s where the color class is indicated by letters, and saturation is indicated by numbers.  Something else that I have noticed is that this 120 set does not appear to include Ohuhu’s entire library of alcohol marker colors as certain numbers are missing from the bag and swatch sheet.  Just how many alcohol marker colors does Ohuhu have in all, and will we ever see a set with all of them? These markers have a faint odor when using them.  They’re strong enough that my fiancée had noticed the odor upon entering our apartment when I was swatching them.  Being someone who often gets migraines triggered by odors, I found that these markers didn’t affect me negatively.  Regardless, I don’t recommend you using them for extensive periods of time in poorly ventilated areas if you have odor sensitivities. The removal of the caps is simple.  I’ve had some markers where pulling on the caps requires some effort, which I imagine is problematic for people who arthritis and other similar issues.  Putting the caps back in place is just as easy.A little something that Ohuhu had included in this set is a customer service-based FAQ insert.  This insert is quite handy considering that customer service will replace problematic markers as you aren’t able to buy individual markers separately from the set.  My only interaction with customer service is when they had issued me the promo code for purchasing this set.  Even though my experience was positive, I cannot comment on how well their service is in regards to issuing replacements and refunds. As you would expect with alcohol-based markers, these bleed through paper.  Ohuhu included a plastic sheet to use underneath your project so that you don’t bleed through onto other pages of your sketchbooks, coloring books, and other surfaces.  The sheet does work, but you should clean it between uses as the ink that is on it can actually get worked onto other projects.Something that you need to keep your eyes peeled for when first opening this set are markers that have a build up of excess ink.  My number 7 marker experienced this.  It wasn’t an issue that a couple of paper towels couldn’t fix, but I suspect that this is an issue where customer service could send you a new marker.  On the opposite end of the spectrum, you may have some markers that are a bit drier than others.  My WG1 isn’t as juicy as most of my other markers.  Some people have reported receiving completely dried out markers, but I was fortunate not to have experienced this.Blending with these markers is a learning curve, but it isn’t an issue that is specific to these markers and is more of a general chisel tip/bullet nib marker subject.  Nonetheless, blending can be done with them, but just not the smooth type of blending that a brush nib produces. Before I forget, these markers come with a black zipper storage bag with a handle.  This bag is actually quite handy and sturdy because it keeps the markers confined to one spot.  The black prevents any dirt and dust from showing up on it.So, are these markers worth it?  You bet!  They’re incredibly nice, especially considering how little you pay for them.  They’re excellent for people who want to try alcohol-based markers, but do not want to invest a bunch of money into Copics.  They’re also good for casual artists, and people who don’t use markers as their primary medium.PROSVery inexpensiveComes in a broad assortment of colorsGood quality for low priceComes with a carrying case, plastic sheet to
