This antique paper binding press was forged in France, circa 1870. The Classic Presse a Relier made of solid iron is almost square in shape; the base is connected to the manual screw controlled by a wide top handle. This heavy tool is in wonderful working order and adorns a rich patinated bronze and gun barrel finish with gilt accents. Decorate a shelf with this wonderful accessory in a study or library! In the old days, this kind of Presse a Papier was used to press the book's sheets together before receiving a bookbinding. Book not included.
