This portrait is a celebration of the subject's unique beauty as she looks off to the left. The play of light and shadow on her face was particularly fascinating and I took great pleasure in capturing it in my painting. The work is an exploration of colour and harmony and a tribute to the beauty of light and shadow. My aim was to create a serene and harmonious composition that would evoke feelings of peace and tranquillity for the viewer. If the onlooker experiences the same sense of calm from the subject's peaceful and contemplative expression, then they have formed a connection with the artwork just as I did.
