This is a gorgeous piece of crushed velvet.  It is crushed lengthwise, like the old broomstick skirts used to be.  The color is a vivid Ruby Red but, when the fabric moves different colors show depending on the light.  I have seen true red to almost black to a purplish red show. This is a gorgeous piece of crushed velvet.  It is crushed lengthwise, like the old broomstick skirts used to be.  The color is a vivid Ruby Red but, when the fabric moves different colors show depending on the light.  I have seen true red to almost black to a purplish red show.

The width is 44/45 wide.  The piece is about 3.25 yards long but since the ends were unevenly cut, I am figuring it as a 3 yard piece & the extra is yours instead of me evening it up.

The crushed red velvet is firmly attached to the mauve knit backing so the velvet cannot be flattened.  There is very little stretch.

This would make a fantastic skirt, lining for a black cape, medieval blouseso many things.
