The secret to successful epoxy use is MEASURING and MIXING! Follow these simple steps and your epoxy should come out right every time:
Squeeze out an equal amount from both tubes onto a disposable plastic baggie.
Mix vigorously for 1 minute using a wooden mixing stick (like a Popsicle stick or a Q-tip with the fuzzy end cut off.)
Let the epoxy sit for 2 more minutes. It will begin to set up and will stay where you put it, rather than being so runny. Use a toothpick to place the epoxy where needed.
Let the epoxied piece sit undisturbed for 24 hours to cure. Resist the temptation to move the piece as this will weaken the join.
