Crackle paste is a white light-weight ground made with a unique balance of solids and acrylic binders. It's use results in an intentional controlled failure that causes the material to develop cracks as it dries. This product allows the artist to introduce a random cracked look which can imitate an aged surface like that seen on old frescoes or antiques. The cracking is random but can be influenced somewhat by the thickness of the application.

Golden Crackle Paste - 32 oz.

Use on its own or mix with color to create a structurally stable crackle effect on rigid surfaces. Creates a crackled texture as it dries on rigid surfaces. Dries to a hard, opaque finish. Maintains paint adhesion, durability and archival quality. Can be used on its own and painted over once dry. Can be mixed with acrylic color - using no more than 15% paint to 85% medium. Apply paste evenly to surface with a palette knife. Leave to dry for at least 24 hours before painting over.
