Sir Isaac Newton (1643-1727) was an English mathematician and physicist who developed influential theories on light, calculus and celestial mechanics. Years of research culminated with the 1687 publication of “Principia,” his landmark work that established the universal laws of motion and gravity.
Isolated in his family home from the Black Plague, Isaac Newton devised some of the most important scientific concepts of his time.
