Out of all the Pacific visions I have ever captured, this may be perhaps the most unique. Only a perfect storm of elements could have come together to create such a beautiful photograph. After an entire day of shooting at this location, I had no idea that my best image was yet to reveal itself. As if planned by some cosmic force, a collection of three waves collided together at exactly the right moment to create this unreal formation – a frozen-in-time glimpse of the magic moods of the ocean. Fortunately, I was already snapping images using a long exposure to highlight the motion of these Pacific swells. I wasn’t 100 percent sure what I had captured until I saw the final result. To say that I was thunderstruck would be a total understatement. Just look at it! Ocean spray filled the air as this glimmering specimen fanned out under a setting sky. Meanwhile, the striking orange and yellow tones of sunset provided the perfect complement to the deep blue water in the foreground. This image is the perfect representation of why I love this gig. The surprises and mysteries of this world will never cease to amaze me.
