These cars are designed after all the adult pinewood racing leagues. An entry level car with high performance parts. This car is ready for HIGH speeds. Tech’s at DerbyDust have packaged a lightweight wafer car with aerodynamic fins to reduce drag. Available with a low profile lead weight topper or tungsten for ultimate push. This entry level league car is a great start at getting that needed advantage in a competitive track. >>What’s in this listing? This entry level league car body kit comes with all the things needed to make a quick and easy car. <<Wheels and Axles sold separate>>> Installation is a breeze because we designed it that way. Fins, pre-shaped car body, wheelbase. This car body kit is ready to roll with a little bit of work from your scout. Laser cut, minimal wood weight. >>Aerodynamic Fins (Areo Fins) All league cars have areo fins to reduce air drag caused by the wheels. When .001″ matters, this is a quick way to gain that. Each balsa fin section is 2 parts in order to give proper track clearance. We made them like this to ensure that first time builders give will not have “fin rub” on the track as you are rail riding. This method ensures that everyone can make Pinewood Derby League Car right the first time. You will need to glue them together with glue of choice. We like Elmer’s white glue. Made with balsa wood,such as these fins, are very light in weight and density, thus can easily be sanded and shaped to desired finish. Overall thickness of each fin is 3/8″ when added to the 1.75″ body give is a total overall thickness of 2.5″ in width. >>Model A League Car Body Model A League Car body is a 1/4″ wafer plank made from kiln dried ponderosa pine which will have 2 pockets on the underside in front / behind the rear axle for proper final weight adjustments. Available in Official Slot or Drilled wheelbases. Model A League Car Body is not offered in Extended wheelbase. Setup for the car can be run as a rail rider, straight shooter, 3 or 4 wheels touching. >>Weight Options for Model A League Car Body Two weight options for this body include the flat canopy or tungsten cubes. The flat canopy has an incredible low profile with a total height less than 3/16″! It sits on top of the car. If tungsten cubes are chosen, the body will have 2 weight pockets to ensure fastest possible COG underneath the car which will be covered with 2 veneer strips of wood. <<>>Model A car might NOT be the best car for your track or build level. Please take in account how comfortable you are with derby knowledge prior to purchasing. Parts are there, the setup and build is what will finish the race. As always we offer many upgrades in axle polishing, and wheel weights and finishes as your pack allows. For those that like to DIY, please check out our line of racing lubes and polishing. >>This car as is in this kit form is a 4 wheel car , no camber. If 3 wheel rail riding is desired, we can swap out straight axles for bent axles at no additional costs.
