This open studio time is for the pottery wheel only. Anyone that signs up MUST have experience with wheel throwing, and be able to work independently. An instructor will be in the building, but most likely working in the front with other students for private one-on-one lessons.

Open Studio time for the pottery wheel is two hours. This time can be used for wheel throwing, glazing your already-made greenware or bisqueware, and cleaning up your workspace.

There are 4 wheels, so space is limited & on a first come, first serve basis. If you try to sign up and it's already full, your name will be put in a waitlist & you'll be contacted by the instrutor if a wheel opens up for you.

Students can use any of the tools in the studio, or they can bring their own. Participants can bring their own clay and glazes (we can use low-fire, or mid-fire. No high-fire at this time). They also have the option to  use the studio's clay & glazes for an additional charge per pound of clay used. At the end of each studio time, the instructor will weigh any pots that have been made & will charge $10/pound. This fee also covers  the glazes that will be used when it's time to glaze the pots.

Students must wipe down their wheel and any tools they used before leaving the studio. Clean-up takes place within the allotted open studio time, not after.

Participants need to plan on coming  back for more studio time to trim & glaze their pots. Then the instructor will take care of all of the firings.
