Since the first day they were struck in 1878, these big, beautiful silver dollars have captured the hearts of American coin collectors. Possibly the most coveted type for all U.S. coinage, they were designed by George T. Morgan, formally a pupil of William Wyon of the Royal Mint in London. Silver Dollar coinage was suspended after 1904, when demand was low and the bullion supply became exhausted. Under provisions of the Pittman Act of 1918 (270,232,722 Silver Dollars) were melted down, and later in 1921 coinage of the Morgan Silver Dollar resumed. Morgan Silver Dollars were struck in Philadelphia, Carson City, Denver, New Orleans and San Francisco, with numerous different variety types. Each one has been hand selected for exceptional eye appeal and is guaranteed to be in Brilliant Uncirculated Condition. They come packaged in Mint Rolls of 20 coins.
