Issued April 18, 1958 Scott catalog #: 1048 Born in Boston, Paul Revere was a leader in the patriot group known as The Sons of Liberty, whose members participated in the Boston Tea Party. History remembers Revere for his ride from Charlestown to Lexington and then on to Concord on April 18, 1775, to warn the local militia that the British were coming. Henry Wadsworth Longfellow memorializes this ride in the poem, “Paul Revere’s Ride.” Revere was also an outstanding silversmith (his graceful designs are still copied today), an engraver, and the first American to discover how to roll sheet copper. 5 Mint unused postage stamps with original gum as issued by the Post Office. These stamps are genuine and valid to use as postage for current mailing. Be sure to use enough total postage to meet the current postage rate for mailing a letter if you want to use them mailing. Also good to use for scrapbooking or displaying in a small picture frame. It's a miniature work of art.
