Over the summer I bought some amazing speckled yarn from ICraftOutsideTheBox on . The colorway is called Sunshine and Rainbows and the colors are so much fun! Reminds me of a funfetti cake. (I saturated the color a bit in the images below for some instagram fun… they aren’t quite so neon, but still beautiful). I saw something on Pinterest that recommended patterns to show off speckled yarn and this pattern was one of the ones they suggested, it’s called Prairie Spring. It’s a lovely pattern, though it’s written more for people who have a few socks under their belt. It might be hard to follow the instructions if you aren’t super familiar with sock construction. So, here are the finished socks (again, I had a little fun dialing up the saturation… I couldn’t resist!) yarn details Handdyed yarn from ICraftOutsideTheBox in Sunshine and Rainbows (buy here) Fingering Weight 75% Superwash Merino Wool 25% Nylon Machine wash/Tumble dry low $23.00 per 100 g / 450 yd skein (purchased in July 2018) project details pattern: Prairie Spring Socks by Samantha Myhre, $4.50 CAD on Ravelry needles: size 1.5 (2.5mm) nickel-plated circs gauge: 8.5 st and 11 rows – one inch in stockinette yarn used: 310 yards finished size: bottom of heel flap to top of cuff: 8″; back of heel flap to tip of toe: 8.5″ duration: July 21, 2018 – September 22, 2018
