These intricate chainmaille bracelets are handcrafted in our studio from recycled copper wire. The meticulous weaving of hundreds of tiny rings makes these bracelets incredibly sturdy and exceptionally comfortable to wear. They are truly timeless and stylish for all genders. This Full Persian 6-in-1 weave bracelet has a width of 10mm and is crafted from 16 gauge recycled copper wire, and closes with a copper lobster clasp.  The wire is first wound into coils to create chainmaille, and the coils are sawn into rings. Then each ring is individually opened, woven into the pattern, and then closed. Chainmaille (also referred to as chain mail or maille) dates back to as far as the Etruscans in the 4th century B.C. The technique of weaving rings together to form armor spread worldwide, including as far as India and China. The Byzantine Empire then brought chain maille to Europe, and during the Middle Ages, it was commonly used as battle armor. Measuring Your Wrist for Bracelets: The best way to get a good fit is to measure the circumference of your wrist. To do this, use a cloth tape measure to measure around your wrist where you will wear the bracelet. Then, add about 1 inch to the circumference of your wrist. For instance, if your wrist measures 6 inches, a 7-inch bracelet would be a good fit, fitting just slightly loose. We recommend going to the next size up if you are in between sizes. Materials Copper - Copper is an element and a mineral known for its warm red-orange color, ductility, and malleability. Copper has been used for thousands of years for jewelry and many people find that copper jewelry relieves joint pain from arthritis. When copper is in contact with the skin, it combines with the air and oils in the skin to create a green layer of copper salts, which is harmless and will usually wash off with soap and water. Over time copper will darken to a natural patina if left exposed to air. The best way to keep your copper jewelry from tarnishing is to wear it regularly and store it in an air-tight plastic bag to slow down tarnishing. Otherwise, copper patina can be removed with a polishing cloth
