This thermal conductivity tester, like all diamond testers that only test for thermal conductivity, will test a moissanite as a diamond. Moissanite can be identified with diamond testers that also check for electrical conductivity, such as the Presidium Multitester, or Moissanite specific testers, like the Presidium Moissanite tester. Moissanite is doubly refractive, and can be identified visually by trained professional Gemologists using a simple 10X jewelers triplet loupe.
