Canfield brand is the choice of professionals, Their smooth-melting alloys yield quality results with less effort than economy brands, and they take patinas extremely well. Victory is a great mid-range solder, offering quality melting and flow at a lower price point than the Canfield brand. Also solders zinc and copper efficiently with minimal working.Amerway is a great mid-range solder, offering quality melting and flow at a lower price point than the Canfield brand. Also solders zinc and copper efficiently with minimal working. RECOMMENDED APPLICATIONS 60/40 (60% tin/ 40% lead): Used for lead came work and for copper foil. Our favorite go-to blend for most types of stained glass soldering. 50/50 (50% tin/ 50% lead): Preferred by some artists for copper foil work. The higher lead content holds heat longer, allowing a little more time for your bead to settle into a nice rounded shape. We do not recommend 50/50 for lead came work.
