I have been trying out Delft Clay sand casting. So far I have found it pretty easy to get good results with shapes that are a bit on the thick side and rather flat with no undercuts. I wanted to try something thin and dome shaped so I used one of my 1 5/16" diameter Urchin shapes made with PMC. The piece is about 1/16" thick. I used some fine silver scrap and the first piece failed to fill completely. I decided the problem was not enough vents and not enough silver to create a fairly large button. After filling the mold I added two vents and added about 10 extra grams of silver. I also heated the metal a bit more than the first test. It came out fine with excellent detail. It
