Our World Class Wool is imported from the most premiere places in the world including South America, Australia, New Zealand and Europe. Hand-picked, our growers have met our highest standards of ethical practices that result in a high wool output. We use several different sheep breeds to create our world class batting including Dorset and Columbia.
Packed in 1-lb., 9x11x5 bags.
The 100% EcoWool Bolus is essentially pre-felted and arrives in little clumpy bumps that retain its springiness much longer than a more consistent organic wool batting/stuffing choice, and is very similar to a down pillow in texture and use.
Use - Standard pillows use a minimum of 2-3 lbs. of stuffing, depending on how firm a pillow is wanted. A King-sized pillow will use a minimum of 3 to 4 lbs. We recommend covering the pillow with a fairly heavy fabric -- a twill rather than a sateen, for instance -- to help even out the feel of the little bits.
Washing - Because it's essentially pre-felted we strongly recommend hand-washing in cold water, though you can certainly try machine-washing on delicate and hanging to dry (do not use heat drying) While the pillow is drying, it is important to gently tease apart the bolus bits so the pillow remains lofty.
Processing - Eco-wool processing is, of course, much kinder to both the fibers and the planet; mild biodegradable soap is used, much of the wastewater is recycled, harsh chemicals are never used to remove plant matter tangled in the fleeces, and the fibers aren't bleached. There are other differences to conventional processing too -- the wool isn't carbonized or chemically crimped, the sheep aren't dipped in pesticides or subject to mulesing, and the sheep have a proper amount of well-managed pastureland.

Content: 100% Kapok Fiber
Country: Indonesia
Naturally an ideal pillow stuffing, Kapok fiber is softer and lighter than down and feels like a mix between silk and cotton. Kapok is sustainably harvested from seed pods that are dropped from the Ceiba tree. It's a super comfy and eco-friendly alternative to poly fill: perfect to use in pillows, duvets, upholstery, and dolls!
As the fiber is very light and designed to disperse seeds in the wind, we recommend the use of a dust mask while handling kapok.
Please note that order quantities over 5-lbs. will be shipped in 5-lb. bags. Sold by weight, not by volume.

No chemicals, pesticides or herbicides have been used in the processing of this wool.
Wool is extremely long-lasting and can bend thousands of times without losing form. It's water resistant - moisture is wicked to the inner surface of wool fibers which allows it to feel dry even while holding 30% of its weight in water. Wool is also temperature-regulating, completely natural, and 100% bio-degradable. Wool can also naturally pass flame tests used in the bedding industry without the addition of chemical flame retardants. It resists mildew and mold, and wool bedding reduces and discourages dust mites.
Processing: After the wool is purchased it goes to a cleaning facility, or scouring plant. At the scouring plant, the wool is washed according to special requests which include using a specific soap that is known to be the mildest, most biodegradable soap available. In addition, the scour train is slowed so that the wool is more thoroughly cleaned and rinsed. The wool is carefully inspected to be sure that it meets the highest standards. It is then dried and baled to ship for garneting and processing. Each bale is tested before leaving the facility to make sure it meets standards.
Weight: 1-lb bag, sold by weight, not by volume
Color: Dark Brown
Content: 100% Organic Buckwheat Hulls
Sold by 1-lb. bag
These buckwheat hulls are a medium grade approved as mulch for organic farming. They are smaller pieces and lighter in color compared to our premium grade buckwheat.
A standard bed pillow will use 6 to 7 lbs. per pillow, a King size pillow will use 9 lbs. or more, depending on how firm a pillow is needed.
Great eco friendly option for replacing plastic pellets uses in poufs, bean bag chairs, ottomans, and cloth toys!
We recommend the use of a dust mask when handling buckwheat hulls, as dust from degraded shells may cause irritation.
Sold by the pound - please note this is not a continuous sheet of batting
