In 1923 Matisse painted a young woman thats reading a book on a small table leaning against the table with her elbow folded under her resting against the table and her hand resting across her forehead. She is concentrating heavily or at the very least absorbed by the work that sits in front of her. The Fauvist style of painting in this painting depicts bold reds soft pinks and a brown curtain drawn back.

Untitled (Floral Still Life) by Edward Mitchell Banister. It is unknown when this particular piece was painted. Bannister who was known for his still lifes was able to really capture the soft yet warm feeling of each petal of each flower. Today this painting in addition to many others are currently housed in the Smithsonian. Recreated with the same soft brushstrokes and soothing pallet this reproduction will delight any art lover.
