Why first layer scan didn't stop the print? - Troubleshooting

I’m new to X1C and this is my 6 print. So far all prints looked pretty good but on this print it starting to fail. It printed the first layer and I got the dialog that says scanning first layer and once it finished it continued printed. As you can see from the results of the first layer, I would have expected it to stop. Is there something wrong with the printer or should I have done something different? Also, if anyone have suggestions to why the print came out that bad, it would be greatly ap
