Edge Kote is painted onto the edges of the belt, as well as sealing the belt this also prevents the edges from feathering. I applied two coats an hour apart and left to dry overnight. This photo shows the bad job I made of it having not t realized that the Edge Kote would show through the black dye later on. After applying each coat of Edge Kote I vigorously rubbed the edges down with a pair of old jeans, this seemed to make the edge surface relatively smooth. Possibly using sandpaper at some point during this stage may work well.
